About our free loan-matching service

We help people find small personal loans from $500 to $5,000 by sharing one free request with lenders in our network. We are a connector, not a lender.

Our mission: make small loans easier to shop

Our mission is to make a small personal loan easier to shop for. One free request lets lenders in our network review your needs for $500 to $5,000, so you can compare real offers before you sign anything.

Most people who come to us are not shopping for fun. A transmission fails, a deductible lands after an ER visit, a lease ends and the moving truck needs a deposit. In those moments, filling out the same form on six lender websites wastes time you do not have, and every site uses different terms for the same idea.

We built a single request form and a library of plain-English guides so you can understand the numbers that matter: the APR, the term, the monthly payment, any origination fee and the total you will repay. A good decision starts with knowing what an offer actually costs.

How our service connects you with lenders

We work as a connector. You fill out one request, we share it with lenders in our network that may serve your state and situation, and any lender that wants to make an offer shows you its own terms.

  1. You tell us the amount you need, what it is for and a few details about your income and contact information.
  2. We pass that request to participating lenders and partners that may be able to help.
  3. A lender that makes an offer presents its own APR, term, fees and payment schedule, usually on its own website.
  4. You decide. There is no fee to use our service and no obligation to accept any offer.

For a step-by-step walkthrough, read how the request process works. To see how we earn money from lenders, read our advertiser disclosure.

What we do not do

We are not a lender. We do not make credit decisions, fund loans, set interest rates, collect payments or service accounts. Every rate, term and funding time you see comes from the lender and is an estimate until you sign.

  • We do not charge you a fee to submit a request or to review offers.
  • We cannot promise that any lender will make you an offer or approve your application.
  • We do not ask for upfront payments, gift cards or wire transfers. Anyone who does is not us.
  • We are not a credit union and are not affiliated with Great Meadow Federal Credit Union. We do not hold deposits or open accounts.

Availability, amounts and terms vary by state and by lender. Some lenders in the network may not serve every state, and some may check your credit when you move forward with an offer.

Who writes our guides

Our guides are written and reviewed by a small team of consumer finance writers who focus on small-dollar installment credit, budgeting and debt repayment, and who explain costs in plain numbers instead of sales language.

  • Nolan Whitlock, Consumer Credit Editor — 8 years editing guides on credit scores, APR and loan disclosures. Nolan reviews every page for accuracy before it goes live.
  • Ira Marchetti, Lending Research Writer — 14 years researching installment lending, origination fees and state lending rules. Ira writes most of our medical, moving and repair guides.
  • Malcolm Dunmore, Debt and Budgeting Writer — 12 years writing about household budgets and paying down card balances. Malcolm covers debt consolidation and repayment planning.

Our editorial standards

Every guide must be accurate, clearly labeled and useful on its own. Payment examples use a stated APR and term, are marked as estimates, and never stand in for a lender's actual offer.

  • Numbers first. We show the monthly payment and total interest, such as $2,000 over 12 months at 24.99% APR costing about $190.08 a month (est.).
  • No promises. We avoid claims about approval, speed or savings that no one can guarantee for every borrower.
  • Independence. Lender compensation does not decide what our guides say or which risks we point out.
  • Corrections. If you spot an error, email us and an editor will review it and update the page when needed.

You can reach the team through our contact page. We read every message about accuracy, privacy or a lender experience you want us to know about.
